ITINERARY

Day 1 : AMRITSAR & WAGAH BORDER TOUR

Upon arrival representative will pick you up in the morning from your desired location in Amritsar and Proceed for Amritsar Sightseeing Tour.

Visit Mata Lal devi Temple, Mata Lal Devi Mandir in Amritsar is an attraction of the history of Amritsar, India. A grand old pious lady developed this Hindu temple situated at Rani ka Bagh, on the lines of holy shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi at Katra (Jammu).

Durgiana Temple, also known as Laxmi Narayan Temple, is a significant Hindu temple located in the Amritsar district of Punjab. Inspired by the Golden Temple’s architectural style.Like the Golden Temple, the Durgiana Temple is also situated in the middle of a lake, with a bridge providing access to the main temple area. The temple’s half-gold, half-marble facade is a sight to behold and gives the temple a unique identity.It serves a different purpose, being a Hindu religious site. Here devotees pay tribute to the warrior goddess Durga, the wealth goddess Laxmi, and Lord Vishnu. 

In the afternoon visit Wagah Border “India–Pakistan Border” which is famous for its ‘Retreat’ ceremony at the time of sunset. Indeed the flag-lowering ceremony at the end of each day on the India-Pakistan border at Wagah in Punjab has over the years become a tourist destination. The two flag posts are located contiguous to the boundary line between the two gates. The Wagah check-point is about mid-way between the cities of Lahore in Pakistan and Amritsar in India, each about 25 kilometers away.

On completion of the sightseeing, you will drive again towards Amritsar. Arrive at Amritsar and Drop back to Hotel.

After Breakfast, Start your city tour with the blessings of Sri Harmandir Sahib, is named after Hari (God) the temple of God, also known as the Golden Temple in Amritsar is the holiest shrine of the Sikh religion.

There are four doors to get into the Harmandir Sahib, which symbolize the openness of the Sikhs towards all people and religions. The Gurdwara is surrounded by a large lake or holy tank, known as the Sarovar, which consists of Amrit (holy water). Sri Harmandir Sahib is the heritage of the Sikh people gathered in their five hundred years old history.

Akal Takht (Throne of the Timeless One) is the highest political and administrative institution of the Sikhs, founded by the sixth Sikh Guru, Guru Hargobind in 1606. Located in the famous Golden Temple complex of Amritsar, the Akal Takht is one of the Five Takhts of the Sikhs. These Takhts are seats of power and authority among the Sikh community, and the place of the Jathedar, the highest spokesmen among them. The Akal Takht is meant to be a symbol of political sovereignty and justice, where the spiritual and earthly concerns of the Sikh people could be addressed and examined.

Then visit Jallianwala Bagh which is a memorial to the countless numbers of innocent Indians which were massacred by General Dyer in 13 April 1919 which happened to be ‘Baisakhi’, one of Punjab’s largest religious festivals. British General, Edward Dyer, ordered his soldiers to opened fire on an unarmed gathering of Hundreds men, women and children in this place.

After lunch visit Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum– The summer place of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. It is surrounded by the lovely garden Ram Bagh. Maharaja Ranjit Singh is a prominent figure, who had carved a niche for himself in the history of India. The Museum displays objects connecting to Maharaja Ranjit Singh such as arms and armour, outstanding paintings and century’s old coins and manuscripts.

The Gobindgarh Fort –the very symbol of Punjab, the iconic protector of Amritsar is situated right in the center of the Holy City along the Grand Trunk road spanning across 43 acres of land. This magnificent heritage site has a history of its own, spread across a period of over 300 years, right from the times of the Bhangi Misl-Maharaja Ranjit Singh-The East India Company-the Indian Army.

You can also do the shopping in Amritsar Market Katra jaimal Singh, Lawrence Road. 

Later get transferred to Amritsar Airport/Hotel/Railway Station for onwards journey. The tour ends with the sweet memories with Delightful India Holidays.
